The Line Style dialog is used to change the style, weight (thickness) and colour of lines and shape outlines.
TreeDraw stores several separate line style settings.
Default line style for new lines and shapes; see "Setting the line style".
Import line styles for normal, marriage and probable links; see "Setting the imported line styles".
Outline style for imported boxes and wheel chart circles; see "Setting the imported box style and colours".
Each line and shape currently in the chart has its own line style setting; see "Setting the line style".
Select the line style from the "Style" list:
![]() | Dotted |
![]() | Dashed |
![]() | Dashed & Dotted |
![]() | Dashed & 2 Dotted |
![]() | Solid |
![]() | Double |
![]() | Circles |
![]() | Squares |
The styles Double, Circles and Squares are not available as shape outlines.
Select the width for the line. A width of 0 (zero) will display/print the line at the smallest thickness which the device can handle (also known as a "hairline"). The "Current style" box will show what the line will look like.
Click on the Colour button to change the line's colour.
The colour of an existing line element may also be changed by using the colour palette.
Click on the OK button to execute the changes.
Note that the line styles "Dotted" to "Dashed & 2 Dotted" with thicknesses greater than zero and styles Double, Circles and Squares are line styles implemented by TreeDraw in addition to the standard Windows line styles. These styles may take slightly longer to display on slower PCs making the display of the chart slower. These styles can be turned off by using the "Display thick lines" option in "Options | Preferences | Appearance".
